Description of Work: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services to demo and install new windows on the north side of the UCSB Psychology Building, Bldg. 551.  The scope of work is defined by the Construction Documents and providing all labor, materials, and equipment required for installing storefront window systems and casement windows in the second and third floors, including metal window sills and the demolition and removal of the existing steel windows and modify existing wall partitions and finishes, as specified in the Construction Documents.

Estimated Construction Cost: $680,159

Pre-Bid Conference:  A mandatory IN PERSON ONLY Pre-Bid Conference and Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted by University staff on November 5, 2024 beginning promptly at 1:30 PM.  Participants shall meet at the location described in the bid Advertisement and Construction Documents. Only bidders who participate in the pre-bid conference, will be allowed to bid on the Project as a prime bidder. Only attendees at the original pre-bid conference will be permitted to schedule a subsequent site visit with the University Representative.

Bid Security: Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid.  The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120).

General Project Information: The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons shall have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University's policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy.  The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code.  No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)].
