Summary of Work:  UCSB San Benito Student Housing project, located on the main UC Santa Barbara campus, is envisioned as a new LEED Platinum residential community, providing student apartments on campus with a range of amenities. Located on roughly 6.6 acres of developable area and surrounded by a sizeable Environmentally Sensitive Habitat Area, the sloping topography will incorporate native plantings and preserve the protected landscape. The project scope will include the construction of an estimated 2,220 student beds, retail dining, and various support spaces in approximately 700,000 gross square feet across multiple buildings. In addition to site and utility connections, the UCSB San Benito Student Housing project will make improvements to adjacent roads, parking, and bike paths.

Only prequalified Subcontractors will be allowed to submit A BID/PROPOSAL on this project.  The following firms have been prequalified to bid on this project:

1.  Standard Drywall (Corona, CA)

2.  Webcor Craft LP (Alameda, CA)

Pre-Bid Conference:  A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be conducted electronically via Zoom on January 16, 2025 beginning promptly at 4:00PM. The Zoom meeting will be hosted by University staff to describe the project, respond to questions, and review the bidding process.  Participants must attend the mandatory pre-bid conference at the designated time via Zoom by using the following link:

Only bidders who attend the mandatory pre-bid conference, will be allowed to bid on the Project.  To be deemed a responsive bidder, a representative from the bidder’s company must participate in the Virtual Job Walk meeting.  Attendance will be taken at the beginning and end of the meeting to memorialize the attendance by the individual companies.  Each meeting participant should have their name and company name included in their displayed name so attendance can be taken via Zoom in an efficient manner. 

Bidding Process: Subcontractors are to follow the Additional/Supplemental “Instructions To Bidders” Contract Document included with the bidding documents. Complying with these CQP Instructions To Bidders are critical to the success of a Subcontractor’s bid effort.  Additional bid submission requirements are included in the Instructions To Bidders. For Cost per Quality Point bidders, Bidders must submit their technical proposals prior to the bid submission date listed below in the Work Package Matrix for the individual work package they intend to bid on.  Upon review of the technical proposals, bid interviews will be scheduled.
