Introduction: The University of California, Santa Barbara (“University”) requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) No. FM250219 from qualified professionals interested in providing detailed project programming, full design services, preparation of bidding documents, and construction administration services for the construction of the Engineering II Pavilion Addition/Auhll Robotic Laboratory project (the “Project”).
Project Description: Statements of Qualification submittals are hereby solicited by the University of California, Santa Barbara (“University”) from consultant firms with relevant experience and expertise in providing the required services. The Project includes the renovation and extension of the Richard A. Auhll Student Center, Room 1401(1,904 GSF), a pavilion located in the Engineering II courtyard area of the University. The Project includes expansion of the existing pavilion to develop a robotics lab area with office and support spaces for up to 5 or 6 faculty. The proposed renovation (1,900 GSF) and addition (2,300 GSF) will provide approximately 4,200 GSF of additional space. Additionally, the Project proposes to remove the existing raised turf planter (approximately 9,000 sf) and redevelop the area to make it more usable. By developing the currently under-utilized grassy portion of the courtyard area, the goal is to facilitate collaboration among students and faculty in Engineering and the proposed Auhll Student Center for Robotics, thereby transforming this area into a more welcoming and desirable setting.
The projected construction budget: $3,000,000 to $5,000,000.
Equal Opportunity Statement: Each candidate firm will be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons shall have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University, regardless of: race; color; religion; sex; age; ancestry; national origin; sexual orientation; physical or mental disability; veteran's status; medical condition; genetic information; marital status; gender identity; pregnancy; service in the uniformed services; or citizenship within the limits imposed by law or University's policy.
