Project Description: Statements of Qualifications submittals are hereby solicited by the University of California, Santa Barbara (“University”) from design professionals and firms with relevant experience and expertise in providing the services described herein.  The selected consultant will provide the services associated with the Engineer II and Theater & Dance East Buildings New Fire Alarm Systems projects (“Project”), as more fully described in this Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) No. FM250314. The selected consultant shall provide a full design for a new fire alarm system to replace an existing fire alarm system in the Engineering II facility and the design of a new fire alarm system for the Theater and Dance East Building located in the eastern area of the University’s main campus. 

Scope of Services: The Project include conducting site surveys/facility assessments in the Engineering II and Theater & Dance East Facilities, and propose locations for the new systems panels and associated equipment. Additionally, consultant services will include the provision of design services including and not limited to architectural, structural, engineering, fire protection and life safety, the recommendation of materials, strategies for implementation, cost estimates and proposed timelines for all work. The consultant must review the proposed system(s) design and construction with designated UCSB staff, Building Official and Fire Marshall. The scope of professional services will be performed under the University’s standard form Executive Design Professional Agreement. Selection of the design professional will follow standard University procedures.
